General: The Neuroblox team is currently hiring talented mechanistic computational neuroscientists with exceptional Julia coding skills. The Laboratory for Computational Neurodiagnostics (LCNeuro) and Neuroblox R&D conduct research at the intersection of mechanistic multiscale computational neuroscience and commercial software development. We work with multiple data modalities, from electrophysiology to neuroimaging (fMRI, MEEG, ECOG), to advance therapeutic discovery for neurological (Alzheimer's disease and related dementias) and psychiatric (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder) applications.

Role: Neuroblox Research Staff Scientist/Engineer is a full-time position. The role involves developing, validating, and deploying AI and control-theory-powered automated pipelines for mechanistic multiscale computational neuroscience models. The scientist/engineer will develop, maintain, and document Neuroblox-related software tools, perform data preprocessing and quality control, and collaborate on experimental design. Daily activities include conducting independent and team-based research, collaborating with various stakeholders (including biotech and medtech companies), training and education (such as designing demos,tutorials, and curricula for short courses and workshops), and contributing to the continuous improvement of lab workflows and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Strong foundation in neuroscience, physics, mathematics, control system engineering, or pharmacology, with the ability to model ODE-based systems.
Industry-grade proficiency in Julia computational programming and commercial software development best practices, including version control and reproducible research workflows.
Experience with neuroimaging data (e.g., fMRI, MEG, EEG, ECOG), including preprocessing, artifact handling, and multimodal data integration.
Skills in designing AI agentic automation pipelines.
Clear scientific communication skills, including writing manuscripts, preparing technical documentation, and presenting complex results to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and to manage multiple research projects with attention to detail.
Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in engineering, physics, neuroscience, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline; postdoctoral and/or industry experience is beneficial.
Prior experience in clinical or translational neurodiagnostic research, or interest in applying computational methods to neurological and psychiatric disorders, is an advantage.
