We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Austin, TX. If you have a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance claim management, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance providers (commercial, Medicare).
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies.
- Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CPT, ICD-10, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries.
- Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
- Takes work directives from leadership and will help with billing projects to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Certification in CPC, CPB, or related (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in medical billing software - AMD (aka Advanced MD), Availity, Change Health.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
