About Somethings:
Somethings is on a mission to end the youth mental health crisis by reducing the suicide rate for teens back to 2008 levels of 6.8 per 100,000 (1) for the 42 Million teens in the U.S.
To combat this, we are creating the first scaled network of Certified Peer Specialists and building the most engaging mental health experience in the world for teenagers. We’ve found deep resonance with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and State Health Agencies and we’re scaling to quickly towards serving hundreds of thousands of teens.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and well-connected Partnerships Lead to generate and facilitate deep referral partnerships with hospitals, emergency rooms (EDs), and mental health centers across North Carolina. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for youth mental health, relationship-building, data-driven decision-making, and a consultative and experimental mindset. If you have a proven track record of successfully driving referrals in healthcare settings and thrive in fast-paced, results-oriented environments, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at hospitals, emergency departments, and mental health centers across North Carolina.
- Develop and implement a data-driven strategy to generate referrals to Somethings, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term goals.
- Regularly track and analyze performance data, adjusting strategies as needed to meet referral targets.
- Apply an experimental mindset to test and refine different approaches for increasing referrals and expanding partnerships statewide.
- Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Work autonomously, maintaining a fast pace and finding solutions to challenges as they arise.
- Leverage your deep network in the North Carolina healthcare system to open doors and drive collaboration.
Your First 120 Days:
- Generate 30 referrals from hospitals, EDs, and mental health centers by April 30, 2025.
- Establish a repeatable and scalable strategy to expand statewide, generating 250 referrals across North Carolina by July 1, 2025.

- Highly Connected in North Carolina's Hospital Systems: You have an extensive network within the healthcare industry in North Carolina, with established relationships at hospitals, emergency rooms, and mental health centers.
- Relationship Builder: You thrive in building and maintaining relationships, demonstrating a natural ability to win over a room and gain trust.
- Consultative Approach: You know that having a deep understanding of a client or customer’s needs and pain points is the key for building a sustainable solution together.
- Data-Driven: You use data to inform strategy, track performance, and test new approaches to continuously improve.
- Experimental Mindset: You are always looking for innovative ways to refine your approach and iterate based on insights and feedback.
- Strong Communication Skills: You are an excellent written and verbal communicator, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and engage stakeholders.
- Fast-Paced: You operate with urgency, identifying and solving problems quickly, and moving with speed to achieve results.
- Resident of North Carolina (Strongly Preferred): Familiarity with the local healthcare landscape and a strong presence in the region is highly desirable.
- Flexible work environment with the expectation of regular travel and in-person meetings across North Carolina.
