Forecast Bio is an early-stage drug discovery company building a prediction platform that leverages astrocyte neurobiology and human data to map how drugs impact brain circuitry and neuroclinical outcomes. Forecast is led by Kira Poskanzer, PhD, who developed the foundations of the Forecast platform in her NIH- and NSF-funded lab at UCSF and as a Venture Scientist at Astera Institute. Forecast’s advantage rests with its ability to link drug chemistry to patient outcomes using a unique neural circuit readout. Forecast aims to be the first to pursue brain circuits as formal drug targets, circumventing traditional discovery strategies that have failed to predict the success of >95% of CNS therapeutics and rewriting the neurotherapeutics development playbook.
